Gold Circle CEO Michel Nairac says a sharp drop in tote turnovers from August 2016 took them by surprise and they ended the year with a R12 million loss – which included retrenchment costs.

But he says that things are looking positive with a stakes increase on 1 November and a nice profit shown in the first quarter of trading.
