Shaheen Brighter – Bipot Pools Could Rocket Today!

Only bad news - his smoking days are over

After the shock announcement on Friday morning that leading South African horseracing personality Shaheen Shaw had been hospitalised after suffering a heart attack, the good news is that he has pulled through the night and is feeling a lot better.

His wife Rasheeda, who spent hours at her husband’s bedside, told the Sporting Post that the family had been overwhelmed by the messages of good wishes from  wide and far.

“The interest and caring has been unbelievable. Shaheen has responded well and is feeling a lot better. The only bad news for him is that he may not have another cigarette – but I guess it will only increase his bipot bankroll!” she joked, obviously relieved after the initial shock.

Shaheen was seen posting on his Facebook page just after 4am this morning, publishing a photograph of a nursing sister telling him his ‘smoking days are over’.

The popular presenter has been an unwitting newsmaker of the week!

On Thursday he announced his resignation from Tellytrack and a move to Cape Town for family health reasons related to his youngest child.

The public reaction to the resignation and then his heart attack underlines his extraordinary following and popularity.

We wish the Shaw family well and will continue to provide updates on the patient’s progress.
