Tellina, who was “nosed” out of sixth place and a stake cheque in the Dubai Gold Cup a fortnight ago, will be shipped to Germany to campaign in Europe before returning to Dubai for the 2017 Carnival.

Tellina – headed for Europe
The six-year-old gelding by Silvano was well placed throughout in the 3200m marathon before running out of steam in the last 400m and Justin Vermaak, on behalf of owners Dr Andreas and Mrs Natalie Jacobs of Maine Chance Farms, commented:
“It looks like Tellina may be best suited to distances up to 2400m. He will travel to Germany via the UK and we’ll be looking at contesting one or two Gr1’s in Germany and perhaps even a Gr1 in Italy later this year.
“Tellina will return to the UAE for the 2017 term and have a chance of winning one of the lucrative pre-World Cup handicaps.”
