Some good races on Sunday and as such some good horses. And hopefully some good punting with RAISE NO DOUBT looking a strong winning hope in race 9 on the card, a Kranji Stakes C dash over 1000m.

The 4YO looked a top-liner after winning his first three career starts and while unplaced at his last two, he can get back into the winners circle first-up after a spell with a strong recent trial under his belt. With the speedy HONEST TRUTH in the field the race should be run at a very honest pace and while BAHEN and GATO NEGRO will be thereabouts, RAISE NO DOUBT should have the class to win this.

Elsewhere on the card, SOON YI won’t get a better chance to knock in an overdue win in the lucky last – a weak Class 4 over 1200m – and WOW should go very close in race 10 to knock in his second career win.

Race 8

Selections; 3 MR SPIELBERG – 1 BRING MONEY HOME – 2 LA FONTANA – 4 ADIVINO
A reasonable Maiden over 1600m with numerous chances. The blinkers go on MR SPIELBERG he was held up and never got clear last start, the journey suits and Manoel Nunes should give him every chance. BRING MONEY HOME does plenty wrong but has more ability than most; Alan Munro gets a chance to give Steven Lam a welcome winner. LA FONTANA battles on well and this distance should suit, he gets his chance to break through. ADIVINO has been battling away over unsuitable distances and in higher grade, this is much more suitable and he can get in the finish. Most of the rest are battlers though BLAZING SPUR and RIGHT IS RIGHT could show up.

1 BRING MONEY HOME *** Does plenty wrong but has more ability than most. Will be hard to beat. 3.50
2 LA FONTANA *** Battles on well and this distance should suit. Gets his chance in this. 4.00
3 MR SPIELBERG *** Blinkers on. Held up and never got clear last start. Suited this journey and should go close. 4.00
4 ADIVINO ** Battling away in higher grade. This should suit and can get in the finish. 5.50

7 REGAL SALUTE * Has been trying for a long time and has failed at all four attempts at a mile. 25
8 FOLLOW THE KING * Has had respiratory issues and distance could test. 50
9 RIGHT IS RIGHT * Best two career races have been at this trip and could surprise. 16
10 MYSTICAL DIAMOND ** Pacifiers on. Has been trying for a long time but has placed this trip in the past and could show up. 12

Race 9

Selections; 5 RAISE NO DOUBT – 3 HONEST TRUTH – 1 BAHEN – 6 CALIFORNIA EAGLE
A KSC over 1000m in which there will be no shortage of speed. RAISE NO DOUBT was trapped wide last start so pay to ignore that run. His subsequent trial was very good, he should find this easier and be hard to beat. HONEST TRUTH goes fast and with KB Soo up is always hard to beat at this level over this trip. BAHEN placed at his last poly run in this grade, he might prefer slightly longer but should be running on late. BELLWETHER’s last win was a BM67 over this distance, if ridden forward he should give some cheek from the gate. CALIFORNIA EAGLE and GATO NEGRO could show up.

1 BAHEN *** Placed at last poly run in this grade. Should be running on late. 5.50
2 GUARICANA * Former Malaysian having first poly start. Prefer others. 25
3 HONEST TRUTH *** Goes fast and hard to beat at this level over this trip. 3.50
4 GATO NEGRO ** Fought on well in similar race last start. Will be thereabouts. 10
5 RAISE NO DOUBT *** Was trapped wide last start. Should find this easier and should be hard to beat with recent strong trial a pointer. 3.00
6 CALIFORNIA EAGLE ** Last win was BM67. Will be competitive but this is a strong field. 7.00
7 BELLWETHER ** Last win was BM67 over this distance. Should give some cheek from the gate. 7.00
8 EXQUISITELY SWEET * Battles in this grade and wants a bit easier. 20
9 MR MANI * Resuming and outclassed. 50

Race 10

Selections; 5 WOW – 6 FATKID WONDERER – 1 UNIQUE ONE – 4 ROCK OF AGES
A KSD over 1200m for the claiming riders with plenty of chances. WOW led and was caught late (by a good horse in Euro Zone) when resuming; with the experienced Matt Kellady up he will be hard to run down again. Likewise, FATKID WANDERER backed up a maiden win with a nice placing behind a good one (Rathausglockel) and looks well placed here. THANKFULNESS broke through last start and Farrick Tan should have him in the finish of this. ROCK OF AGES fought on in a similar KSD last star, Mohd Firdaus should have him in a prominent slot throughout. UNIQUE ONE surprised in winning a similar affair two starts back and then ran on well in a Class 4, she should be closing late.

1 UNIQUE ONE *** Surprised in winning a similar affair two starts back and then ran on well in Class 4. Should be closing late. 4.00
2 RISING EMPIRE ** Long time since he has won but has speed and can give a sight. 20
3 THANKFULNESS *** Broke through last start in Maiden company and should be in the finish of this. 5.50
4 ROCK OF AGES *** Fought on in a similar KSD last start. Should be prominent throughout. 5.00
5 WOW *** Led and was caught late when resuming. Will be hard to run down again. 4.50
6 FATKID WONDERER *** Backed up good maiden win with a solid placing behind a nice one. recent trial good enough to follow. 7.00
7 STAGE BRIGHT * Blinkers on. Recent form poor and wants longer. 33
8 JET SET ** Copped a bump early which put him out of contention last start. Should get a good run on the speed. 7.00
9 GREENBACK * Back to a more suitable distance and has placed this trip. Could surprise. 20
10 LIVE WELL * Better on turf in Class 5. 33

Race 11

Selections; 7 SOON YI – 2 FARRAND – 4 TWODOLLARMUPPET – 11 JACK OF HEARTS
An ordinary Class 4 over 1200m finishes things off. SOON YI runs on but can be tardy at the start; if Davey Flores can get him away he will be the hardest to beat. FARRAND is resuming after a short let-up, the blinker/pacifiers come off come, his last win was a KSD over 1100m and he could show up in this weak Class 4. The rider dropped the whip on TWODOLLARMUPPET last start, he has speed and could show up in this weak Class 4. The blinkers come off FOREVER LUCKY, she was crowded and slowly away at her first start for Brian Dean, she could improve. A market watch is advised on the former Malaysian, JACK OF HEARTS who gets the ace and Juglall.

1 WARPATH * Down in grade. Struggles on the poly but is better than many of these. 16
2 FARRAND *** Blinker/Pacifiers off. Resuming sans head-gear after short let-up. Last win was a KSD over 1100m and could show up in this weak Class 4. 5.00
3 DRAGON * Best form is on turf over a mile. Has failed at all poly starts. 20
4 TWODOLLARMUPPET *** Rider dropped whip last start. Has speed and could show up in this weak Class 4. 5.00
5 SMART SAMURAI ** Just battled last start and prefers shorter. 10
6 FOREVER LUCKY ** Blinkers off. Crowded and slowly away at first start for new stable. Could improve. 6.00
7 SOON YI *** Runs on but can be tardy at the start. If he gets away will be the hardest to beat. 4.00
8 PURE RABID * Pacifiers on. Ran on fairly when resuming. Better over longer. 20
9 DAMAIPURI ** Won in Class 5 last start. Has always found this grade too hard but this is not a strong race. 10
10 OZYMANDIAS ** Resuming and rarely seen on poly. Best form is over longer but has some ability and could show up. 12
11 JACK OF HEARTS ** Former Malaysian whose trials have been only fair but gets Juglall for in-form trainer. Watch market. 25
