Strydom Injury Shock

Hope that it is an old injury

Piere Strydom –  bad luck

Hospital scans showed that Piere Strydom has a neck fracture after his tumble off Refuge shortly after the start of the fourth race at the Vaal on Thursday.

Tabnews reports that the legendary rider was rushed to the Union Hospital in Alberton, where tests revealed the extent of the damage.

When approached for comment in the evening, Strydom made the following reply: “Xrays showed a fracture, but MRI showed it most probably is an old fracture. Hope so otherwise I could be in trouble.”

This incident continued the amazing run of ill fortune suffered by our top jockeys, as in recent weeks Gavin Lerena, Anthony Delpech, Anton Marcus and now Strydom have sustained serious injuries as a result of falls.
