Africa’s Richest Raceday Takes Shape

Three Gr1's on 1 February at Kenilworth

Weights for the Sun Met day supporting features at Kenilworth on 1 February were published on Wednesday.

Beyond the headline feature, there are two further high quality Gr1 races on the day.

A lot of interest will be focused on Brett Crawford’s undefeated filly Run Fox Run, who takes on males in the Cape Flying Championship in pursuit of a first Gr1 title.

The CTS sales races, run over 1200m and 1600m, will also enjoy plenty of hype with stakes of R5 million apiece.

Despite the recent cut in the Met and other feature stakes, the day holds top ranking as Africa’s richest raceday.
