In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is king. So goes the saying and it has been quite a week in KZN with two one-eyed Australian-bred horses winning in the last two meetings.
The Super Sunday meeting brought the curtain down on a great season. But twelve races at the final meeting means a long day and do customers really want to spend close to eight hours on a racecourse? The raceday package needs some urgent attention and repackaging and it is now time to test the market.
A man we are privileged to have known as a loyal friend of this great game and of the Sporting Post, a personal mate, and one of South African horseracing’s great characters, Shaheen Shaw, a husband, loving Dad and Grandad, passed away suddenly at the age of 55
