Tara Could Give Us A Banker Today

First due off @ 12h30

Fairview Racecourse will host an eight-race programme on the polytrack this afternoon with the first due off at 12h30.

Trainer Tara Laing sends out six runners with a couple of decent winning chances and she may be worth following.

Laing’s Pedro may be the possible Pick 6 banker. He moved up well in his last start over this distance on the turf but was outrun late by Africa’s Rock.

It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked.

The 5yo gelding meets the right field this afternoon and he can notch up his fifth-career victory.

Gunsmoke takes his place in Race 4. He has very good consistent form lines to his credit.

He ran on strongly when second over 1400m on this course last time.

He has won once and finished second once from three starts over this distance.

The 5yo gelding is having his peak run today and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

  • Race 2: No 4 Lady Chatterley had a 121 day break due to change of stables.
  • Race 6: No 9 Quest For The Best had a 160 day break due to a foot injury and change of stables.
  • Race 7: No 9 Glass Shoes had a lengthy break due to a jarred RF knee and was rested until fully healed.

Jockeys James Lihaba and Robert Khathi will not be riding today.
