Tarry’s Star Could Swing It

First race off @ 12h15

Ten races are carded on the Vaal Classic course this afternoon.

The first is due off at 12h15 and the lucky last is set for 17h10.

Swing Upon A Star from the Sean Tarry stable takes his place in Race 4.

He has good consistent form lines to his credit.

He stayed on when second behind Karangetang in his comeback run over 1000m on this course.

The son of Elusive Fort has won once and finished second once from as many starts over this distance.

He is the best-weighted runner and will strip much fitter.

Gavin Lerena retains the ride and the combination should find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.

Hollywoodbets-sponsored trainer Stuart Pettigrew saddles Southern Blaze in Race 8.

He has good recent form lines to his credit. He was unlucky not to have won his last start as his pilot lost his stirrup irons momentarily at the 300m mark.

It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked.

He takes a step up in class, but carries a handy galloping mass of 52.5kgs and is capable of notching up his third career victory.

Jockeys Marco van Rensburg and Louis Nhlapo are not riding today.
