The Big Day Has Arrived And The Sun Is Shining

Projected R6 million carryover

The sun is shining on Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. Gates open at 11h00 and we are all set for the much anticipated L’Ormarins King’s Plate meeting.

Ten races are carded and there is a R1 million carryover in the Pick 6 with a likely pool of R6 million.

Don’t forget about the free to play Hollywoodbets Punters Challenge.

The first is due off at 12h05.

If you don’t know about it, you must have been on the moon, but everybody’s talking about Charles Dickens from the Candice Bass-Robinson yard who takes his place in the Grade 1 L’Ormarins King’s Plate.

He was settled near the rear of the field in the Grade 1 Hollywoodbets Cape Guineas. He had to be switched out for a run at the top of the straight, quickened up under the hands and drew clear with ease.

He does face his toughest test as he takes on older rivals who have won multiple Grade 1 races. However, he is a special horse who has the class to remain unbeaten under his pilot Aldo Domeyer. With 55kgs on his back, he should take a power of beating.

Candice Bass-Robinson saddles Golden Hostess in the Grade 2 Cartier Sceptre Stakes. She has had to overcome a wide barrier position in her last two starts, the latest of which was the Grade 1 WSB Cape Fillies Guineas.

The way she stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging.

She should have no issues with the drop to 1200m as she has won once, finished third once and fourth once as many starts over this distance. She carries a handy galloping mass of 54.5kgs and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
