The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an Inquiry held in Durban on 18 June 2015, trainer K G Naidoo was charged with a contravention of Rule 73.2.4, in that he was the trainer of the horse Cool Anne from which a urine specimen was taken after it had participated in and won the 8th Race  at Greyville on 8 March 2015 .

The specimen disclosed upon analysis the presence of Flumethasone, a prohibited substance (classified as a class 4 substance in terms of the Guidelines).

Trainer Naidoo pleaded guilty to the charge.  The Inquiry Board accepted his plea and found him guilty as charged.  After considering all the evidence the Board imposed a fine of R45 000.00.  Mr Naidoo has the right of appeal against the sentence imposed.

Furthermore, in terms of Rule 72.3.2 Cool Anne is disqualified from this race and the stake monies are to be returned for re-distribution in terms of Rule 67.7.8
