2014 Gr1 Sansui Summer Cup winner and the only SA Triple Crown winner at stud in South Africa, Louis The King, has just been added to the line-up for the Highlands Stallion Parade on 25 May 2018.

The keenly anticipated event is building into a unique showcase of the pride of the Cape stallion band and represents the best of both our locally produced sires as well as an exciting and diverse selection of internationally sourced stallions.

The Highlands arsenal will be headlined by their outstanding multiple champion sire Dynasty, who will be joined by fellow residents Jackson, Pathfork (USA), Rafeef (AUS) and their exciting new addition, the five time Gr1 winning Canford Cliffs (IRE) whose notable progeny include recent Gr2 Alister Clark Stakes winner Cliff’s Edge and Gr3 Three Troikas Stakes vixen Fish River.

Maine Chance Farms are showing off Querari (GER), Vercingetorix (whose first crop of yearlings are on offer at this year’s National Yearling Sale) and Quasillo (GER), the Klipdrif-based son of Sea The Stars.  Klawervlei Stud is bringing Cape Guineas winner William Longsword and Coup De Grace (USA), the only son of three time US Champion Sire Tapit at stud in South Africa.

From further afield Oratorio (IRE) will be representing Avontuur Stud, Lammerskraal Stud is bringing Visionaire (USA) and Moutonshoek is bringing their new Gr1 winner Admiral Kitten (USA), while Wilgerbosdrift Stud will be sending residents Flower Alley (USA) and Soft Falling Rain, who present their first crop at next week’s National Yearling Sale.

Nadeson Stud present their Redoute’s Choice stallion Time Thief (AUS), who celebrated his first Gr1 winner in Australia recently.

With the addition of Louis The King, the event will be a unique opportunity for guests to view some of the very best the Cape has to offer, all under one roof, and paired with the wonderful Ridgemont hospitality, has got to be the must attend event of the year.

Louis’ manager, Kerry Jack, told the Sporting Post, “Louis’s first crop of foals are extremely impressive and it’ll be a great opportunity to get him a bit more exposure now that he has let down. We’re looking forward to a super evening at Highlands.”
