Turkish Delight: Night Racing Every Tuesday

Arising out of a request from the International Division of PGE for a Night Racing product on Tuesdays, in particular the Turkish and USA markets, which will deliver enhanced revenues for PGE, night racing in South Africa will take place consistently on Tuesdays’ from the end of September to the middle of May each year, with effect from 1 January 2011.

To achieve consistency of product, Wednesdays and Saturdays will in general, be the domain of the Western Cape with Kwazulu-Natal commanding, in general, the Tuesday and Sunday slots. However, Major Race days in both regions will remain a Saturday affair.

Highveld racing will still occupy its normal Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday slots alternating Tuesday nights and days with KwaZulu-Natal.

Flamingo Park and the Eastern Cape will race the remaining Monday and Friday slots respectively, with the latter filling in for the Mondays not scheduled for the Northern Cape.

The stability offered by this move will provide increased opportunities for enhancing betting turnover.
