Two Jockeys Booked For July

Seven scratchings at first declaration stage

There are now a total of seven scratchings at the first declaration cut-off at 11h00 on Monday for the R4,25 million Vodacom Durban July to be run at Greyville on 6 July.

Highest rated of the scratched runners was Mike de Kock’s Alyaasaat.

Red Chesnut Road, Doosra, Silver God, Shenanigans, Ariano’s Shadow  and the sadly deceased SA Derby star Samurai Warrior are also scratchings.

Interestingly, two jockeys have already been declared with Saturday’s WSB 1900 candidate Orpheus getting regular pilot Marco van Rensburg, and Calvin Habib accepting the engagement on the revitalised Johan anse van Vuuren runner, Divine Odyssey, who won two features before a gutsy third behind Hawwaam in the recent Gr1 Premier’s Champions Challenge.
