Uttoxeter and Haydock Off

Weather affects fixtures

There was mixed news following a busy morning of inspections with afternoon fixtures at Nottingham and Yarmouth getting the all clear and evening cards at Uttoxeter and Haydock being cancelled.

The Racing Post reports that Leopardstown is on firmer ground for action this evening with a Group 3 featuring that old favourite Gordon Lord Byron trying to win at the age of 11 against an eight-year-old market leader in Flight Risk.

Newbury has a younger set with the feature fillies Listed race sure to garner interest as it was won last year by Sea Of Class, who promptly went on to win the Irish and Yorkshire Oaks before an unlucky second in the Arc at Longchamp.

John Gosden, who runs Terebellum, has won three of the last seven runnings, including with Great Heavens who went on to win the Lancashire and Irish Oaks on her next two runs.
