Lerena To Appeal Gates Crop Incident Findings And Penalties

Hi Andy
The NHA may well have that policy in place for their staff.
But the jockeys are independent contractors and subject to NHA Rules. Not that it makes assault,

This leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. And the irony of it all is that GVN is now serving his suspension(I presume) and the blue eyed boy appeals after issuing "an apology" and in both incidents he was involved...albeit on the receiving end in one,

Bosnay was my bet of the day. Siren should not have went off as the horse was in the stalls when flag was raised. Stripes were expecting a backlash as it was the hot

Hi Editor...I see no response to my comment about one being fired if you had to strike a fellow worker at ones workplace. Does the NHA not have work policies in place for these sort of actions? Would be interesting to hear what would happen to an Office Worker working for the NHA who hit a fellow worker in an office environment. Same offence, same Company. Should be the same punishment. Sounds like the NHA have set a precedent....hit someone at work...no problem.....slap on the wrist. The embarrassing part is the Whole racing World witnessed this. This type of action and the lenient punishment does little to attract new people to horse racing. One can see by the Tote pools that racing is going downhill . The only time there is a crowd at horse racing in Durban is on July Day.

Cecil, old chap, how are you doing? It's that time of year again buddy. The most exciting time of the year.

Have you and Frankie found the July winner as yet? I think Eight on Eighteen will win! Even with 57 kg. This has been a vintage 3 year old crop and the results thus far in the major races suggests so as well.

Don't think he will win the Guinness though, he hasn't got the speed, I fancy Cosmic Speed strongly. This is his mission.

Frank, if Main Defender comes in a bit on the draws, make him a massive runner in the Drill Hall.

Please do share your thoughts.

Cape Jockey Protest – JP Van der Merwe Fined

Bad mistake or unlucky timing by the assistant starter because of a horse that dislike the starting stalls for good reason, hence loaded last? Do you know this horse's history and therefore why the white flag went up premature

Last year's July winner did 1900 and Cup Trial as preps.

Also the program has changed - this year the Guinness is on the 3rd and DN on the 24th of May - 3 weeks between races - as supposed to the first week of May and June.

For me it will be different not taking a DN / Epsom Derby place double.

In my useless opinion, of the horses you mentioned only Confederate is in and probably Wild Intent - the others need to improve in the next 2 months - some
