Dominic Zaki looks to have a future star sprinter on his hands in the form of the Judpot flyer, Little Genie. The 4yo made it four straight victories when annihilating her opposition to win the R150 000 Listed Banyana Handicap at the Vaal on Saturday.
Little Genie has not been beaten since shedding her maiden and was having her first outing on the sand surface. She is a gutsy girl on the up and looks an exciting prospect.
And it must also be so pleasing for her connections that she is not a stereotype tearaway sort. She showed maturity here by settling and producing an effort when it counted.
Ridden again by SA champion apprentice Craig Zackey, who has been aboard at all of her successes, Little Genie was relaxed down the centre of the track a few lengths off the action.
She was asked for an effort by Zackey at the 400m and she simply outgunned them to draw clear.
On a tough day at the office for many punters, the good thing came home at a generous 3-1 as Little Genie beat Brigtnumberfour by a length in a time of 57,81 secs.
