WSB Gold Rush Entries Due On Friday

Big stake contest will be run on 28 January

Entries for the inaugural R7,5 million WSB Gold Rush close on Friday 13 January at 11h00.

The WSB Gold Rush will be run over 1600m on Cape Met day, 28 January, and is based on the same principle as The Everest in Australia.

King Regent is at 19 on the log – promising sort and must be a candidate for the final field (Pic – Chase Liebenberg)

The Gold Rush offers 16 ticketholders (prospectors) the opportunity to race for the massive stake and is open to graduates of the 2021 Cape Premier Yearling Sale.

The Gold Rush is not limited to the sixteen Prospectors, but to anybody who bought a horse at the 2021 Premier Sale.

The Sporting Post believes that reserve runners will be entered and carded. The full details are not yet known.

The final log, unchanged from a week earlier, is shown below.

The log is a guide for information purposes only and will not determine the final field.
