It’s All Systems Go For Summer!

Tarry bids for fourth straight win with strong hand

The final field for the R1 million World Sports Betting Gr1 Gauteng Summer Cup was announced on Tuesday.

The premier Gauteng 2000m handicap will be run at Turffontein on 28 November, and a bumper R20 million Pick 6 is anticipated on the big day!

Reigning SA Horse Of The Year and the current Gauteng Summer Cup favourite Summer Pudding will take on the boys for the first time, and could give her trainer Paul Peter a maiden success in the historic race.

The daughter of Silvano is unbeaten in eight starts and there are high hopes in many quarters that she retains her unblemished record. She jumps from an 18 draw.

Christopher Robin had his merit rating raised from 98 to 109 after his easy success of the Victory Moon Stakes over 1800m standside track on Saturday.

His trainer St John Gray will be looking for his second success in the race after Dancewiththedevil won in 2011, and also saddles another daughter of Modus Vivendi in Dance Class.

Reigning SA Champion trainer Sean Tarry will be bidding for his fourth successive success in the race and saddles 5 runners, headed by defending champion Zillzaal.

Fairview trainer Zietsman Oosthuizen saddles his maiden Gr1 runner when former Mike de Kock charge Atyaab returns from a ten month and travels from Port Elizabeth. The son of Dundeel has a wide draw to overcome.

It looks a fascinating race!
