Charity Turf Challenge – Latest

Hawwaam still tops log

Whilst Hawwaam is without peer in his generation, Do It Again oozed class on Saturday when getting going late to land the Gr1 Rising Sun Gold Challenge and take the second bonus point race and, in the process, set up a fascinating clash in the Vodacom Durban July on Saturday 6 July.

Cirillo showed great cruising speed to nearly pull off the upset and Rainbow Bridge showed his wellbeing in running a somewhat unlucky third place.

Fans of the sport were thrilled to catch a glimpse of the regally bred Met winner, Oh Susanna who showed guts to make all the running when landing the Gr2 Tibouchina Stakes over a distance way too short for her. Three year olds, In The Dance and Silent Crusade got onto the leaderboard.

To cap a great weekend of racing, the Mike De Kock team pulled off a four-timer at Turffontein including taking top honours in the Gr3 Jubilee Stakes with July hopeful, Barahin, who earned 9 points for his followers.

On the player log, DRILL THEM 19 made a strong challenge on Gold Challenge day and now is joint leader with NEIL MOODLEY 6 on 227 points. RICK 1 also made a move and is a clear second on 225 points.
