Jimmy The Rich writes that Hollywoodbets-sponsored trainer Gavin Smith’s Norton Sound, our original best bet on the card, has been scratched.

But the value might be with Marsh Marigold from the Alan Greeff stable, who may be the horse to close off the meeting.

He stayed on nicely to finish second in his last start over 1300m on this course. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked.

He has won once and finished second twice from four starts on this course. He meets a similar type of field today and can go one better.

Kyle Strydom has ridden his 60th winner and will no longer claim an allowance.
