Wylie Hall gets a final bite at a Gr1 this season

Vodacom Durban July runner-up Wylie Hall is amongst the 31 nominations received for the R1,25 million Gr1 Gold Cup to be run over 3200m on Super Saturday, 28 July.

As a former SA Derby winner, the Australian-bred gelding is likely to see out the test of stamina and adds an exciting dimension to the season climax.

Dean Kannemeyer’s sensational Gr2 Gold Vase winner Hot Ticket is also amongst the entries and the son of Silvano was reported to have pulled up well after Saturday’s thriller and is likely to start favourite.

He will carry top weight but looks a progressive sort capable of handling the burden.

Supplementary entries close at 11am on Friday 11 July.
