July Day – Who’s Hot, Who’s Not?

Zillzaal is best backed horse on the card!

Smart money or mug money or even somewhere in-between? There is plenty of everything as the fever builds in the countdown to the Vodacom Durban July twelve race programme at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Saturday.

Money for On That Boulevard in the second (Pic – Candiese Marnewick)

We asked Kyle Johnstone of Hollywoodbets to give us a snap summary from the leading bookmaker’s perspective of what’s happening on each race,

Race 1

All the money has been for Ancient Spirit 12/1 into 5/1 and there was some slight support for Strawberry Wine from 16/1 into 7/1. However the continued pressure has been for Ancient Spirit and that may start shorter then the current 5/1 on the day.

Race 2

Opening leg of the Bipot and it looks to be a tough race. No solid support for anything , Basilius , On That Boulevard, Kissable and Ishnana are the ones that have attracted some support – however it looks to be a race where anything can win.

Race 3

Solid nonstop support for Zillzaal from 10/1 into 5/2 – best backed horse on the entire card.

Race 4

Wide open Race – Dynasty’s Blossom has seen a bit of money 25/1 into 7/1 – however no solid money for anything in particular.

Race 5

True To Life  is in from 10/1 into 4/1 and Roll in the Hay 10/1 into 11/2 – they are the two fillies that have attracted support. Cavivar and Miss Florida are easy to back at 5/1 the pair.

Race 6

Gr1 winner Eden Roc has attracted the money from an opening call of 2/1 and is currently trading at 11/10 – talk from a few of the punters is this may be the banker on the day.

Race 8

Betting 5/1 the field and only Tristful has found some support. Looks tricky!

Race 9

What looked to be the banker of the day, Oh Susanna may have her work cut out by the younger generation as Front And Centre has been all the rage and has shortened from 4/1 into 5/2.

Race 10

Nothing has been backed just yet. Could change by race time.

Race 11

Exclusive Quantity 8/1 into 4/1 – also a tricky race

Race 12

Priceless Ruler has trimmed in from 7/1 to current favorite at 4/1 – Red Shift was the early market mover from 12’s into 7’s.
