Cape Summer Set To Sizzle

Class, class, class!

The Gauteng powerhouse yards of Mike de Kock and Sean Tarry will launch their respective Cape summer season campaigns at Kenilworth on Saturday 27 October.

Highly regarded Pleasedtomeetyou faces his first serious test

Past multiple SA champion conditioner Sean Tarry has representatives in both the R400 000 Western Cape Fillies Championship and the Gr3 Cape Classic, while De Kock is represented in only the fillies’ feature with the smart Firdoas.

The two opening features at the Cape’s flagship course declared final fields on Thursday and have attracted quality fields with Tarry’s Lanzerac Ready To Run Stakes joint log-leader Cirillo pulling a decent draw as he takes on the boom undefeated local, Pleasedtomeetyou and Dennis Drier’s KZN raider, Crown and Country.

The Glen Kotzen-trained Temple Grafin tops the official ratings in the Western Cape Fillies Championship where she returns to action in her first run as a 3yo. She has not run since winning the Gr3 The Debutante in the SA Champions Season last term.

The R300 000 Cape Premier Yearling Sale graduate was a first SA-bred stakes winner for Drakenstein stallion Duke Of Marmalade (Danehill) when she cracked her feature success.

Exciting Ridgemont Highlands filly Front And Centre

The undefeated Ridgemont Highlands -owned Dynasty filly Front And Centre is another exciting inclusion and will be partnered by retained jockey, Anton Marcus.
