The inaugural R750 000 Hollywoodbets KZN Sizzling Summer Challenge is hotting up and another chapter will be written at Hollywoodbets Greyville today where eight races are carded on the polytrack.
All the leading contenders in the competition have proven worthy of following and after last Wednesday’s meeting at the same venue, things have gotten even tighter at the top.

Keagan De Melo (7 rides today) was the leading points scorer with 65 points from his 8 rides, including a win on for the Dean Kannemeyer Stable.

De Melo thus moved back into 2nd place, 5 points ahead of Warren Kennedy, who has six mounts today after riding two winners at Turffontein on Saturday – including the feature on Sarah.
The top-class Anton Marcus, who enjoyed mixed fortunes at the L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate Festival, still holds the lead on the log with a margin of 45 points.
Last Wednesday, trainer Wendy Whitehead, who has four carded runners today, was the leading points scorer, with 58 points from her 7 runners, including two wins.
Nooresh Juglall And Craig Zackey are both medically indisposed and will not be riding today.
The first race is off at 12h45.
