Punters’ Challenge On New Battleground Today

Hollywoodbets Punters' Challenge deadline 12h05

The battleground of the Hollywoodbets Punters’ Challenge takes on a new dimension today as KZN racing will be held at the historic Capital City track of Hollywoodbets Scottsville for the first  time in the reloaded popular competition.

The track has been under spring treatment and is expected to be in pristine condition.

The scenic racecourse made history 58 years ago when the Gilbey’s Stakes, South Africa’s first sponsored horse race, was hosted at the then Pietermaritzburg Turf Club.

This was the beginnings of the annual highlight of the jackpot of four Gr1 sprints held at Hollywoodbets Scottsville in May.

Today, Hollywoodbets Punters’ Challenge players face nine tricky races in their quest to secure the big cash prizes on offer.

Its is simple, requiring a player to pick one horse for each race on the card, and submitting their picks 5 minutes before the first race of the day.

So the deadline for today’s leg of the challenge is 12h05.

There are two competitive Pinnacle Stakes races to look forward to.

Race 7 is over 2400m will feature the likes of Flichity By Farr and Marchingontogether.

Race 8 is over 1400m where Priceless Ruler will renew his rivalry with Wynkelder.

Jimmy The Rich writes that Priceless Ruler is the best bet on the day.

He won a good race over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time.

He was reported to be cut into that day which makes the victory that much more encouraging.

It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked.

He has won three times, finished second once and third once from seven starts over this distance. From pole position, he should take a power of beating.

Robbie and Shannon Hill send out Count Marsh in Race 4.

He is much better than his last start when having to overcome the widest draw.

It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked.

The son of Duke Of Marmalade is crying out for the extra distance on offer and should be cherry-ripe.

Anton Marcus takes the ride, which is a big plus.

The false rail is at 9m.

  • The Bipot starts in the second at 12h45
  • The Place Accumulator starts in the third at 13h20
  • The Pick 6 starts in the fourth at 13h55
  • Jackpot 1 starts in the fifth race at 14h30
  • Jackpot 2 starts in the sixth race at 15h05
