Racing in the Mother City Today

First race off at 13h10

An intriguing card kicks off in the Mother City at Kenilworth today. The first race on the card starts at 13h10 and the lucky last will close off proceedings at 17h20.

The Dean Kannemeyer stable send out Glitter In The Air who competes in Race 2.

The daughter of Futura produced an eye-catching debut effort over 1400m at Durbanville.

Bobby Bean writes that she was drawn wide and understandably raced green on that occasion, but the manner in which she finished off her race was really encouraging. She has her first run up the straight and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should take a power of beating.

The Justin Snaith camp send out Green Light Gal who participates in Race 8. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight is one of four Snaith runners in this contest. She improved in her last start when tested over seven furlongs.

She raced from a handy position that day and stayed on positively at the business end.

The lightly raced filly drops in class this afternoon and should be cherry-ripe having her third run since winning on debut.

Stable jockey Richard Fourie has opted for the ride which should suggest that she will be extremely competitive in the lucky last race.

The false rail is set at 1m out from the 1700m with a 3m spur at the 470m mark.

  • The Bipot starts in the first at 13h10
  • The Place Accumulator starts in the second at 13h45
  • The Pick 6 starts in the third at 14h20
  • Jackpot 1 starts in the fourth race at 14h55
  • Jackpot 2 starts in the fifth race at 15h30
