Easy For The Lover

Young Donovan Dillon celebrates July day feature winning ride

Easy Lover wins Canon Business Centre Handicap

Donovan Dillon steers Easy Lover to a confidence boosting win

KZN champion trainer Duncan Howells registered the first leg of a showstopping Vodacom Durban July Day feature double when the well weighted Right Approach colt Easy Lover stormed home to win the R135 000 Listed Canon Business Centre Handicap.

The Listed KZN Guineas Trial winner has not always been the luckiest of horses, but this confidence boosting victory over some decent older horses will hopefully give him the green light to go on and fulfill the promise he showed earlier on.

Arniston carted them along early tracked by Bold Inspiration, as Donovan Dillon has Easy Lover relaxed in midfield.

Into the home run Prince Of Orange challenged for the lead with the field fanned out as Easy Lover was taken to the outside for his run.

With Anton Marcus and Bold Inspiration clinging on doggedly down the middle in the face of many challengers, Easy Lover kicked into top gear and stormed home to beat him by 1,25 lengths in a time of 97,22 secs.

Bold Inspiration held the improved again Mljet in second, with outsider Stolen Destiny ghosting into fourth to boost quartets.

The Arc En Ciel bred Easy Lover is a 3yo son of Right Approach out of the Rich Man’s Gold mare, Miss Gold Digger.

Easy Lover was purchased for R120 000 on the Cape Premier Yearling Sale Book 2.

He has won 4 races with 6 places from 13 starts and took his stakes earnings to R609 475.
