A Point Of Order At Fairview Today

First race is off 12h30

Local star Pathfork filly Madame Speaker looks a good thing at Fairview today.

Returning from a six week break she takes on nine rivals in the eight race card’s topliner, the R150 000 Listed Lady’s Bracelet.

Beaten into second in this race last year by Snaith’s Platinum Class, the champion 2yo filly of her generation, Madame Speaker has never been out of the payout queue in all eighteen runs and from a decent draw today, she looks ready to win the weight-for-age plus penalties contest.

SP Top Bet of the day – Madame Speaker (Pic – Pauline Herman)

Major opponent is likely to be her year older stablemate Meryl, another talented big-hearted girl, who is yet to run a bad since arriving in the Eastern Cape early last year.

Cape challengers always have to be taken into account but both Star Fighter and Duchess Of Bourbon look to have some ground to make up on Madame Speaker on current form.

The going is officially ‘good’ with the false rail set at 2,5m off zero to the 1000m and increasing to 7,5m with a 7,5m spur at the 800m.
