There will be R1 million kicking off the Turffontein Pick 6 pool today which is expected to reach R7 million.

The meeting coincides with Super Saturday at Meydan where Win, Place and Swinger pools will be commingled to form Mega Pools for some nice payouts.

The Pick 6 gets underway in the R150 000 Listed Storm Bird Stakes at 13h35 and the scratching of Accomplished reduces the field to just six runners.

One of the Sporting Post’s best bets on the afternoon is the unbeaten Judpot colt War Room – a smart winner in good times of both his starts.

Paul Peter and Winning Form jockey Warren Kennedy have been in hot form and they could be set for a great day.

Warren’s wife Barbara confirmed to the Sporting Post today that her husband is definitely riding after missing a few midweek meetings.

War Room’s main opponent appears to be the Querari filly Slalom Queen, a good winner at her only start. She gets 4,5kgs from the Judpot colt. But that may not be enough to stop the Peter flyer.

With some trickier puzzles later on in the Pick 6, we are putting our heads down and banking War Room.
