Jimmy The Rich writes that King Of Venus hails from the Sean Tarry stable and is the best bet on the card.

He was all at sea on debut over 1200m on the Classic course, but the manner in which he finished off his race was eye-catching.

It must be noted that Ablaan has come out and won again since.

The son of Vercingetorix would have gained from the experience and should enjoy the rise to the mile. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should take a power of beating.

Trainer Fabian Habib saddles Waqaas in Race 5.

He showed some signs of returning to best form in his last start under today’s pilot, Diego de Gouveia.

He has finished second in his only attempt over this course and distance. The 6yo gelding takes a drop in class today and can return to winning ways.

S’manga Khumalo will not be riding today as he is medically indisposed.

Xola Jacobs rode his 20th winner at the Vaal racecourse on 21 October 2021. He will now claim 2.5kgs.

The false rail is set at 5m on the back straight and bend with a 5m spur at the 600m mark.
