Plenty Of Promise

New Sire Off The Mark – Redoute’s Promise

Bush Hill stallion Redoute’s Promise celebrated his first winner at Fairview on Monday when the Piemonte Stud bred 2yo Aldo won readily at his second start.

Racing for the Scribante family, Aldo had run a  close up second on debut and improved to win well in the Polytrack 1200m maiden.

He is the second foal of the four-time winning Var mare Wishful Eye – who once beat champion Val De Ra. Aldo cost R50 000 at the BSA National 2yo Sale.

A horse who never raced as a result of an injury, Redoute’s Promise was an A$75k yearling, who was imported into SA and re-sold as a Ready To Run 2yo for R500 000.

He was the first son of sire legend and triple Australian champion Redoute’s Choice to stand at stud in South Africa. Redoute’s Choice sons of the like of Snitzel, Not A Single Doubt and Stratum are excelling at stud.

Redoute’s Promise is out of the multiple Gr1 winner Perfect Promise , the first South African bred horse to win a Gr1 race in Australia. She is a full-sister to multiple Gr1 winner Irridescence – who beat champion Ouija Board in the Gr1 QE II Cup in Hong Kong. His second dam Meretricious was Broodmare Of The Year in South Afric.

Redoute’s Promise stands for a fee of R5 000 at Bush Hill Stud in KZN.
