The Magic Signature – Racing Waits Patiently

Good news to brighten lockdown day 53...?

National Horseracing AuthorityWith the government announcing they were looking at easing lockdown conditions, but that hotspot areas like the Western Cape, Gauteng and KZN were likely to have higher lockdown levels, NHA CEO Vee Moodley is still hopeful of racing soon commencing operations.

He told Gold Circle’s David Thiselton: “We are waiting patiently to ascertain if we are on the schedule to be one of the many sectors that will be allowed to operate under level 4 …. as I stated on the 05 May release, we are in the hands of the NCCC ….. I did try my utmost to explain the many reasons as to why we cannot be classified similar to Casinos …”

Moodley was quoted on Thursday that the racing application was on top of the pile at the National Coronavirus Command Council, and that an answer could be forthcoming by close that day.

We hope to hear some good news to brighten up lockdown day 53 today.
