Another Super Snaith Day Ahead?

The Pick 6 starts in the fourth at 13h50

The big day has dawned under partly cloud skies in Cape Town! It’s 2021 Gr1 Cape Town Met day and twelve races are scheduled.

There are five feature races alongside the Cape Town Met which include the Gr1 Cape Flying Championship which is presented by Cape Racing, the Gr1 Cape Racing Majorca Stakes, the Gr2 New Turf Carriers Western Cape Stayers, the Gr3 Politician Stakes and the Listed Summer Juvenile Stakes.

There is an estimated Pick 6 pool of R15 million.

The first race is due off at 11h50.

Danilo Danilovitch could give the Justin Snaith stable a good start to a busy day ahead. The son of What A Winter has produced two decent efforts thus far.

He showed good pace last time, but had to switch at the 200m mark. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked.

He does not meet the strongest field this afternoon and with Richard Fourie in the saddle, he should take a power of beating.

Trainer Candice Bass-Robinson sends out Snow Report in Race 4 on the card. He showed good guts and determination when winning his last start over this course and distance.

He set the pace that day and found more where it matters most. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He is likely to have his own way in front once again and may be hard to peg back.

The Gr1 Cape Town Met has a quality line-up and an exciting race can be expected.

Belgarion ran a creditable race when finishing third in the Grade 1 L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate last time. The son of Dynasty is better suited to this type of distance.

His widest draw is no concern as he can race from any position and quicken well. He should be at peak fitness for this outing and should be the one to beat.

The straight inside rail is moved 3m from 800m to 400m with a 3m spur at the 400m mark.

The summer course false rail is at it’s original position with a 3m spur at the 600m mark. The start is forward of zero by 3m.
