Another action-packed card kicks off in the Mother City at Kenilworth today which includes the running of the Cape Thoroughbred Sales Gr2 Cape Merchants, Avontuur Estate Gr2 Concorde Cup and the Non-black Type De Grendel  CTS Ready To Run Stakes.

The first race on the card starts at 12h40 and the lucky last will close off proceedings at 17h25.

Bobby The Bean writes that the Justin Snaith stable send out Viridian Light who competes in Race 2.

The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight finished positively in her last start against stronger.

She finished right behind Iris on that occasion and meets her 0.5kgs better off at the weights. Interestingly, stable jockey Richard Fourie will ride her for the first time.

She looks fairly-handicapped in this contest and looks set to earn her second career victory.

The Adam Marcus camp send out Missisippi Burning who participates in Race 8. This talented daughter of Captain Al showed signs of needing her comeback run.

She won the Cape Fillies Guineas and KZN Fillies Guineas which indicates the sort of class she oozes.

She drops back to sprinting and if putting her best foot forward then she will be difficult to peg back in the run down to the line.

The false rail is set for the winter course at 1m out from the 1700m mark with a 3m spur at the 470m mark.
