“Honestly, I haven’t opened a book in four years, but I’m sure I will still be able to make some sense of it! I’ve been tasked, and thanks very much to Neil Andrews, with fielding perms for my all-time favourite bet – the Bipot! We shall try our best – softly, softly!” he wrote on social media today.

“It will also be importantly, an opportunity to create further awareness of our Cause,” he said.

Shaheen has made the transition from the country’s most popular racing TV personality to an angel of mercy on the Cape Flats, providing meals and help to the needy.

“I begin next Tuesday, and I must admit I’m somewhat excited. Let’s try and work those pools for the betterment of the game.Thank you for your support and patience in advance.”
