Wow what a race meeting, at Greyville last weekend! Well done to everyone in the racing fraternity.

The Duke of Castlethorpe’s only daughter, Igugu, had been kidnapped. She was held captive by Black Wing, a Terrorist Organization at Captain’s Wild, a secret location in Emerald Cove.
I have been involved in racing for 30 years and owned a fair number of horses. I know the punter has a very limited interest in bloodlines, history and owner and trainer banter. Even the students of form have a limited interest in breeding and bloodline. I am not suggesting these aspects are done away with but I would think there should be a structure of priorities.
Right now, Last Cowboy Productions is putting the finishing touches to the first part of a documentary series on the history of South African racing and breeding, which has been commissioned by the TBA and which will be ready for flighting prior to this year’s National Yearling Sales, at Gosforth Park. Unfortunately, the efforts of the producers to provide the fullest possible coverage of the different racing eras have been hampered by the dearth of photographs available of the champions of yesteryear.

In a letter to all members of the KZN Racing Association Chapter, KZN Regional Chairman Moga Pillay calls for opposition to Resolution 12. The letter carries a Gold Circle letterhead, and asks for opposing proxies to be faxed to the official Gold Circle fax number in Durban. It is my view that the letter is misleading, and clearly shows Pillay’s lack of understanding of the intentions and good faith of the merged Shareholders Agreement signed by the KZN and the Western Cape. The lack of leadership seems to be an ongoing challenge for Gold Circle.
