Watch – Have A Bet – On Kentucky Derby!

It is going to be a Super Saturday!

Good news for South African horseracing fans is that the Kentucky Derby meeting will be broadcast loud and proud on Tellytrack on Saturday 2 May, with full betting

The Mike de Kock-trained UAE Derby winner will become the first South African-trained horse to take part in one of the world’s most famous race, the Kentucky Derby, and the action will be screened live on TellyTrack at 00h24 tomorrow morning.

South African punters will have the opportunity of getting in on the action as local pools will be commingled for various bet types including Win, Place, Exacta, Pick 3 and the Double.

The Kentucky Derby encapsulates everything that is great about the Sport Of Kings and this includes the many traditions that are associated with the race from the winner being adorned by a wreath of 554 red roses, the massive crowd of around 150,000 imbibing on mint juleps and the singing of the folk song My Old Kentucky Home while the horses are parading.

The race is regarded as one of the hardest in the world to win because more than 23,000 thoroughbred foals are born in the USA most years and every breeder’s dream is to win “The Derby”.

The UAE Derby is the only qualifying race for the Kentucky Derby run outside of North America whilst the best ever finishing position for UAE Derby winner in the Kentucky Derby is sixth.
