An eight-race programme is set for the Vaal Racecourse this afternoon.

It is an early start to racing with the first due off at 12h05.

Jimmy The Rich writes that Just Fabulous from the Alec Laird stable takes her place in the lucky last race.

She followed up her debut win with a good second-place finish over 1450m on the Turffontein Inside course. She should have won that day as she hung in the latter stages.

The daughter of Judpot runs in the same class this afternoon and if keeping on a straight line, she should be the one to beat.

She should have finished closer last time as she was slow into stride and hung on the bend.

She carries a handy galloping mass of 54kgs thanks to 2.5kgs claiming apprentice Philasande Mxoli. It is not a strong field and she can shed her maiden tag.

Rachel Venniker and Xola Jacobs both rode their 20th winners at Vaal Racecourse on 21 October so they will now claim 2.5kgs.

Raymond Danielson will not be riding today as he is medically indisposed.

The false rail is set at 10m in from the 1600m to 600m mark with a 10m spur at the 600m mark.

  • The Bipot starts in the first at 12h05
  • The Place Accumulator starts in the second at 12h35
  • The Pick 6 starts in the third at 13h05
  • Jackpot 1 starts in the fourth race at 13h45
  • Jackpot 2 starts in the fifth race at 14h25
