It’s Soft At The Vaal

The first race kicks off at 13h10

The Vaal Racecourse plays host to an eight-race programme this afternoon.

It is a day for the workriders and Champion workrider, Joe Gwingwizha, who has five rides, may be the man worth following.

The first is due off at 13h10.

Jimmy The Rich writes that Corrie Lensley saddles Eternal Life in Race 7. She produced a promising debut effort over 1400m on this course.

She was green in running and hung from the 600m to the 400m mark.

The daughter of Querari would have come on with the run under her belt and will enjoy the rise to the mile.

With the natural improvement that is expected, she can go one better here.

Maradiva from the Paul Peter stable takes his place in Race 3.

He should have finished closer to the winner last time as he was held up for a run at the 50m mark.

The son of Twice Over returns from a 13-week break and has his first run for the Paul Peter stable.

This is not the strongest field and if settled into his new surroundings, he may be the one to beat.
