Lerena Under A Platinum Sky Today

Early! The Bipot starts in the first at 11h45

Eight races are scheduled for the Vaal Racecourse this afternoon.

Gavin Lerena has six rides booked, with a couple of decent chances of winning.

It is an early start to the day with the first due off at 11h45.

Jimmy The Rich writes that Sean Tarry saddles Platinum Sky in Race 7. He has produced two decent efforts since winning his maiden over 1400m at Turffontein.

He stayed on nicely to finish third over 2000m on this course. The son of Silvano takes a drop in class and should be cherry-ripe.

He does have a wide draw to overcome, but gets the services of Gavin Lerena who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

My True North from the Phillip Vermeulen stable takes his place in Race 4. He showed good improvement in his last start over 1700m on this course.

It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth in that race has come out and won since.

The son of Sudden Storm will love the extra distance on offer and he can go one better.

Jabu Jacobs will not be riding today as he is on holiday.
