Van Rensburg Will Be Fit For July

A week's rest will do the trick

Marco van Rensburg will not be riding at the Flamingo Park meeting today after taking a fall prior to the start of the first race at Turffontein on Sunday.

Van Rensburg, who is carded to ride Roy Had Enough in Saturday’s Gr1 Vodacom Durban July, was stood down for the day and has been booked off for this week.

He spoke to the Sporting Post on Monday and said he would ‘definitely’ be at Greyville on Saturday to ride Roy Had Enough and to take up his big raceday commitments.

“Thankfully I didn’t break or tear anything. My left leg is bruised and sore but I am focussed and will be fully ready on Saturday,” he added.

Van Rensburg rode a cracker at Greyville last Saturday to win the KZN Breeders Million Mile on Morning Catch for Joey Ramsden.
