War Of Athena – Best Bet On The Card

Bipot starts in 2nd at 12h45- Likely pool R350 000

Partly cloudy weather with a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms is forecast over Turffontein, which plays host to a ten-race programme of seven feature races, including the Gr2 Emperors Palace Charity Mile on Saturday.

The meeting kicks off at 12h10 and proceedings close at 17h30.

With the scratching of the unbeaten Anything Goes, War Of Athena looks to be the best bet on the card.

She takes her place in the Non-black Type Peermont Emperors Palace Ready To Run Cup presented by BSA.

She was ridden to perfection when winning her last start over six furlongs on the Inside course. She has won twice and finished third twice from five starts on this course. From her wide draw, she will be mowing down the frontrunners in the run down to the line.

Heart Stwings, who lines up in the Gr3 Yellowwood Handicap is the best value on the day.

She opened up at 11/2 and has found support into 4/1 with Hollywoodbets.

She has placed in her last four starts.

She finished 1.5 lengths behind Dance Class in her penultimate run and is 2.5kgs better off at the weights.

That should be enough for the tables to be turned. She is likely to have her own way in front today and may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.

The false rail is set at 3m on the back straight, to 7m on the bend, with a 7m spur at the 700m mark.
