The R3.5-million / R4-million Wilgerbosdrift SA Triple Tiara for 3-year-old fillies is the richest series of races for fillies in Africa.

It has been won twice previously.

The Galileo filly Igugu, trained by Mike De Kock, wore the Tiara in 2011, while Ormond  Ferraris’ Tiger Ridge filly Cherry On The Top captured the prestigious prize in 2013.

The Triple Tiara comprises the following:

Leg 1: The R1-million Avontuur Estate Gr1 Cape Fillies Guineas over  1600m which was run at  Kenilworth on Saturday 6 December 2014 and won by the Australian-bred Majmu.

This Saturday’s R500 000 Wilgerbosdrift Gr2 Fillies Guineas is thus an alternate first leg.

Leg 2: The R1-million Wilgerbosdrift Gr1 SA Fillies Classic run over 1800m on the Turffontein Standside at a day-night meeting on Saturday 28 March 2015.

Leg 3: The R1-million Wilgerbosdrift Gr1 SA Oaks run over 2450m on the Turffontein Standside on Saturday 25 April 2015.

A bonus of R1 million will be paid to  the owner/s of the filly that wins all three legs of the Triple Tiara. 5% of the bonus will be paid to winning trainer/s and 5% to the winning jockey/s
