Joint leaders “Connors Spur” and “Brian Easthorpe 3” on 222 points and 3rd placed “Cargo Movers 1” on 220 points have gained a useful lead in the competition going into the Gr.1 Mercury Sprint on Saturday, 14 July and the last bonus race of the competition, the Gr.1 Ladbrokes Gold Cup which also features the Gr.1 Champions Cup and the Gr.2 Gold Bracelet on “Super Saturday”, 28 July. Whilst its valuable points in the bag for the top 3, the competition is definitely not done and dusted and judging by the selection of horses that the TOP 50 have in the competition, the 2012 competition is in for a nail biting finish.
