With just ten days to go until the inaugural CTS R2.5mil Ready to Run sale in Johannesburg, the remaining gallops were conducted on Monday morning at the Turffontein Racecourse.

An enthusiastic crowd of around sixty people were greeted by good weather & track conditions and some very impressive gallops.

Twenty one horses were on display and didn’t disappoint with several lots the centre of some robust discussions.

Lobbying some of the good judges in attendance, it was thought that lot 137 the filly by Captain Al out of Spirit Leader was certainly up there with the best gallops of the morning.

Lot 139 the Kings Apostle bay colt who’s had one to race for two wins moved very well.

It was probably no surprise to see the exceptionally well bred lot 78 the only entry by champion sire Western Winter out of Eris feature prominently in discussions.

Joe Soma was on hand to watch his colt lot number 109 by Captain Al the first foal out of the Australian mare La Romanesque gallop and he would have been delighted with what he saw when the colt produced a very smart gallop.

Hemel ‘n Aarde produced another impressive gallop with lot 96 the chestnut son of Kahal out of the Northern Guest mare Highlyconfidential. From an impressive family that has produced a number of winners, the colt had plenty of admirers after a very smart gallop.

Last weeks Summerhill gallops are now available for viewing on line at www.capethoroughbredsales.com and today’s gallops will be uploaded shortly.

Attention now turns to the upcoming sale to be held on the 31st of October at the Inanda Club in Johannesburg.
