Cape Thoroughbred Sales has announced Morgan Deane Smith’s appointment as one of its Lanzerac Ready to Run Stakes Ambassadors.

Originally hailing from County Cork in Ireland, Morgan is an accomplished singer with several number one hits in Europe, a recent appearance on South African Idols, and is currently recording a new song to be released in South Africa before Christmas.

Morgan’s role will include; appearances, promotion of the Lanzerac Ready to Run Stakes race and its associated events and as a judge of the Lanzerac Best Dressed Couple who will win a trip for two to the 2015 Investec Epsom Derby including flights, accommodation and hospitality all thanks to Investec Cape Thoroughbred Sales and Jacqueline Kolbe Millenary.

CTS Sales Manager, Amanda Carey was excited to make the announcement saying, “We’re absolutely delighted to have Morgan Deane Smith as an ambassador. Morgan’s image perfectly compliments all of the attributes of both the CTS and Lanzerac brands with her beauty, style and sophistication as well as bringing a touch of glamour to the day’s events.”

Morgan is of course the wife of former champion South African cricket captain Graeme Smith and is looking forward to her new role.

“Like most girls, I love to get dressed up, go to the races and have an enjoyable day out. I’m really looking forward to being on course and seeing some amazing fashions and equally amazing horses.

Morgan’s first duties will be at the Lanzerac Ready to Run Stakes Barrier Draw to be  held at the Lanzerac Hotel & Spa in Stellenbosch on Thursday the 13th of November  where she will meet the press and be available for interviews and photo opportunities.
