Greyville – Ambulance Missing?

Stipes report says nothing

Given the recent public focus and attention around on-course ambulance and medical services, the apparent failure of the ambulance to track the runners in the eighth race at Greyville on Wednesday is puzzling.

The Sporting Post has learnt from reliable sources that a handler was kicked at the start of this race.

The video footage of the start clearly shows the runners jumping under starter’s orders and the lead vehicle pulling away as the ambulance driver and his passenger alight from their vehicle, which appears to remain at the start. It appears that the handler was attended to and the race proceeded without incident – and without the ambulance.

Watch the start of the race:

The official Stipes report makes no reference to the handler being kicked or the ambulance being obliged to remain at the start.

Surely the handler’s injury was grounds for a false start, given the limited medical resources on course?

And why should we trust Stipes reports with selective information being furnished?
