Inquiry – Jockey B Lerena

The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an inquiry held in Johannesburg on Wednesday 26 January 2011, Jockey Brandon Lerena was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7, in that he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to QUEEN DAGMAR at approximately the 450 metre mark, when riding TWO WOOD in Race 6 at the Turffontein Racecourse on 22 January 2011.

Mr Lerena pleaded guilty to the charge.

The Inquiry Board found Mr Lerena guilty and imposed a suspension from riding in races for a period of one week.

Mr Lerena has the right of appeal against the penalty imposed.
