It was the legendary Lester Piggott that gave the advice to Frankie Dettori to ‘ride the horse – not the race’. Dettori has been one of the world’s great jockeys over the past two decades and last year’s Investec Derby winning rider has been appointed a big race ambassador alongside rising star actress, Eleanor Tomlinson.

The 237th Investec Derby Festival will be held from 3 to 4 June 2016 and this year marks the banking giant’s eighth year of sponsorship. It is also the Queen’s 90th birthday year.

Investec also welcome Alex Nicholls, the first lady jockey to ride in the Derby and retired jockette Hayley Turner who will be a VIP guest of the sponsors.
